The search is on! LiftMaster, the nation’s leader in Garage Door Openers, is searching for the best unsigned band in America.
The first round of the battle is done, and fans have picked their favorite 10 bands. After the second round, the two most popular bands, based on fan votes, will be flown to Chicago to battle live on July 23rd in front of a concert audience at 1st Ward Events (Chop House). Judging the Battle of the Garage Bands Finals will be legendary front-man Dee Snider (Twisted Sister), Chicago music icon Chip Z’Nuff (Enuff Z’Nuff), and Grammy™ nominated producer, Johnny K (Staind, Disturbed, Plain White Ts).
The winning band will have the opportunity of a lifetime to win a $40K+ prize package that includes having their single produced by Johnny K, receive a radio and video promotion package aimed at 1,000+ radio stations and genre appropriate video networks, 300 Limited Edition CD singles, tour posters, band gear and more. There’s also a V.I.P. fan prize for the top vote generating fan which includes an all expense paid trip to Chicago to see the battle and meet the celebrities.
Wildly popular Chicago metal band, Speedfreak, will play in the live final round of the Battle of the Garage Bands competition on Sunday, July 23 at Wicker Park’s 1st Ward Events. Speedfreak will thrash it out against Minneapolis’ own Sin City Escape, making this a true Midwestern fight to the finish.
Presented by LiftMaster, the Oak Brook, IL-based leader in garage door openers, all Battle of the Garage Bands proceeds will benefit Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, which provides financial assistance to career musicians who are struggling to make ends meet while facing illness, disability, or age-related problems. In other words, healing musicians in need.
LiftMaster is also partnering with some of the biggest names in music, including sweetrelief.org, MVP Entertainment, Toucan Entertainment, Spy Music Group, KickLidz, FlipBin, Chop Shop, 1st Ward Events, Dan Machnik, and Dark Matter Coffee.
In addition to legendary judges Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Chip Z’Nuff of Enuff Z’Nuff and Grammy™-nominated producer Johnny K, the celebrity guests confirmed to attend include co-hosts Walter Flakus of Stabbing Westward and Loop Rock Girl April Rose.
