“Words cannot express how elated I am to have been invited to man the throne for the mighty 8G Band on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” in the first week of October,” says Gene Hoglan. “I’m really looking forward to this experience, and it’s an honor to be a part of such a fun show. Thank you to all who have helped put this together, you have my esteemed gratitude.”

Gene Hoglan has recently been promoting his latest musical endeavor, Brendon Small’s Galaktikon, alongside musician/actor/writer/comedian Brendon Small and bassist extraordinaire Bryan Beller. Their latest release, Galakitkon II: Become The Storm – a high-stakes intergalactic extreme rock/metal album released on August 25, 2017 via Megaforce Records/MRI – is now available. In its first week of release, Galakitkon II: Become The Storm charted at #1 on the US Billboard Heatseekers chart, in addition to charting as the #9 Independent Album, #9 Hard Rock Album, #10 Rock Album, and #40 in Top Current Albums.

Hoglan has also been promoting his latest DVD, The Atomic Clock: The Clock Strikes Two, which is out now. The DVD features the Clock himself breaking down some of his favorite beats, telling stories and playing along with tracks from several of his most legendary projects. An impressive roster of high-caliber musicians also weigh in over the course of the feature, offering stories about Hoglan and their experiences working with him.

While renowned as a progenitor and leading legend of double bass drumming, Gene Hoglan – a.k.a. “The Atomic Clock” – is equally known for blending seamlessly into any given style. Hoglan’s humility sets him apart, making him one of the most sought-after drummers in hard rock and metal. Hoglan boasts an impressive 30+ year history as a member of some of heavy metal’s most influential bands, including Dark Angel, Death, Strapping Young Lad and Dethklok. He has also performed with metal luminaries Anthrax, Testament, Opeth, Fear Factory, Devin Townsend and many others. Guitar legend Steve Vai and Black Sabbath’s Bill Ward have named Hoglan their favorite drummer, with Ward adding that Hoglan is “this generation’s John Bonham”. Drumming icon Dennis Chambers (Parliament, Eric Clapton, Steely Dan, Santana) has said he is astounded by Hoglan’s talent, taste and feel.
