Swimming with the Sharks Entertainment has chosen a winner for their “Battle of the Unsigned Bands” contest.
Judges for the contest included:
- Ahrue Luster – Producer and Guitarist for bands such as Ill Nino and Machine Head
- Austin D’Amond – Drummer for bands such as Devildriver, Chimaira, and Bleed the Sky
- Tommy Gibbons – Guitarist for bands such as Tantric and Flaw
- Joshua Wickman – Producer for bands such as KING 810 and Within The Ruins
- Jonny McBee – Producer and Vocalist for bands such as The Browning and As Blood Runs Black
- Noah Robertson – Drummer for bands such as Motograter and The Browning
“First of all, we’d like to thank all the bands and the fans for participating. Thank you! We had an amazing amount of talent submit to the contest and it was an honor to host this event. We’d also like to thank our judges! YOU ROCK! Our goal was to help up-and-coming bands gain exposure and find an overall winner in the process, to be awarded a recording contract. We have done just that. The winner of the 2017 Battle of the Unsigned Bands is, ‘The Rift’ from Los Angeles, California! The Rift will be releasing their new single and video very soon via Zombie Shark Records! Runners-up will be announced soon. Cheers!”
