DelainDutch symphonic rockers Delain have been releasing and performing their signature catchy melodic metal sound worldwide for nearly a decade now. The five albums on their name include guest performances from the titans of the scene, among others: Sharon Den Adel (Within Temptation), Marco Hietala (Nightwish), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory).

Having toured the globe with bands like Nightwish, Sabaton, Within Temptation, and Kamelot, and having rocked festivals like Wacken, Graspop, and Fortarock, Delain have strongly carved their niche within the scene.

After touring South America, the US as well as extensive EU tours with their album The Human Contradiction, their latest chart hitting full-length Moonbathers opened new doors for Delain as they performed their first US/CAN headline tour in the spring of 2017. This summer will see the release of the bands 10 year anniversary live DVD/Blu-Ray CD and Vinyl through PledgeMusic, after which the band will embark on an exclusive EU tour with Marco Hietala from Nightwish dubbed the Danse Macabre tour. If all of that isn’t enough; the band is now announcing a much anticipated return to South America. With all releases, tours and festivals ahead, one can only fathom what the year 2017 will bring for Dealain! (Source)

amorphisFounded 1990 in Helsinki, AMORPHIS have worked their way to the apex of the European metal scene and won international renown. The band’s name, derived from “amorphous” (no determinate form or shape), has been programmatic for the pioneers of Finnish metal over the course of their 20-year career. Setting a diverse, intricate and unique style to their musical approach, often being described as “ahead of their time”, the band accrued a large and loyal international fan base. From their independently released demo “Disment of Soul” (1991) through the current releases, Amorphis have always fused elements of traditional heavy, death and doom metal with a great variety of non-metal influences, including folk, progressive and psychedelia, and managed to create an instantly recognizable sound of their own. The band’s break-through came in 1994 with “Tales From The Thousand Lakes”. The album won the band a massive fan base around the world, reaching a multitude of listeners among and beyond the metal community, and remains immensely popular to this day.

At the outset of the third decade, Amorphis continue their musical journey creative as ever – not confined to any predetermined shape, yet always instantly recognizable, always true to their own vision, and always unique.

Early 2018 Amorphis finished recording their upcoming new studio album, entitled »Queen Of Time«. The record is scheduled for a May 18th release. (Source)

Anneke Van Giersbergen

Anneke Van GiersbergenIn May 2018, Anneke van Giersbergen (VUUR, Devin Townsend Project, The Gathering) performed two career-spanning concerts with orchestral arrangements together with Residentie Orkest The Hague. Fans came from all over the world to see and hear this crossover collaboration, but soon everyone will be able to experience these concerts, as Anneke and the orchestra are set to release a live album. ‘Symphonized’ features 11 tracks and will be released on InsideOut Music on November 16, 2018.
Dutch vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen is easily one of the hardest working people in music, and an artist that defies being pigeonholed by genre. She will forever be known as the vocalist for melancholic metallers The Gathering, but since striking out on her own in 2007, she has solidified a solo career, recorded and performed multiple times with Canadian metal genius Devin Townsend, and lent her honey-sweet, yet powerful voice to the likes of Anathema, Icelandic folk group Árstíðir,
Within Temptation, Ayreon mastermind Arjen Lucassen, Moonspell, John Wetton and Napalm Death.
Having proven her credentials and immense vocal talent for 13 years as front woman of The Gathering, in 2007 Anneke van Giersbergen felt it was time to begin her own solo career. Along with her new band Agua de Annique the charismatic singer quickly established herself as a solo artist, releasing several albums to critical and popular acclaim.
2012’s Everything is Changing was something of a milestone in Anneke’s solo career. The album, which was the first to be released under her own name got her nominated for two Edison awards – Holland’s most prestigious music prize – in the categories ‘Best Female Artist’ and ‘Best Album’.
On March 20 2015, Anneke van Giersbergen and Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon) released their collaborative album The Diary under the name The Gentle Storm.
Anneke’s new progressive metal band VUUR released their much-anticipated debut album ‘In This Moment We Are Free – Cities’ on October 20 2017. The album entered the Dutch Album Top 100 at number 2, Van Giersbergen’s highest-ever chart position. (Source)
