The DIRTY ROTTEN IMBECILES’ history begins on May 2, 1982 around 4:00pm, in the city of Houston, TX. It was on this day that the musically aggressive quartet we now know as D.R.I. made their first Dirty Rotten noise and called it a song. Back then it was Spike Cassidy (guitar), Kurt Brecht (vocals), Eric Brecht (drums), and Dennis Johnson (bass).
Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (also known as D.R.I.) are a United States hardcore punk/thrashcore/crossover thrash band that formed in Houston, Texas, in 1982. The band currently comprises founding members, vocalist Kurt Brecht and guitarist Spike Cassidy, as well as drummer Rob Rampy and bassist Harald Oimoen. D.R.I. never gained a mainstream audience, but the integration of their hardcore punk roots with thrash metal influences was a stylistic catalyst for their contemporaries —most notably Suicidal Tendencies, Corrosion of Conformity, and Stormtroopers of Death— alongside whom they are considered pioneers of what would later be called “crossover thrash.” This subgenre was also coined from their 1987 album Crossover.
Kaustik is a heavy metal band from Southern California generating exceedingly heavy, hook filled music influenced by numerous genres including: classical music, classic rock, jazz, punk, almost every metal sub-genre old to new, and even rap. This amalgamation of diverse ideas gives them a fresh, unique sound to be enjoyed by music fans from all walks of life.
Kaustik has released a self-titled album in 2011, and an EP, entitled “Forged in the Bones of Our Freedom”, in 2014. October 2016 will see a tour with thrash legends D.R.I., accompanied by the release of their politically fueled compilation EP, “Fuck Politics” on Black Voodoo Records, which will include music from both previous releases as well as two songs from their upcoming full length slated to be out in the spring of 2017.
Kaustik has played countless shows touring the country, most notably the southwest, performed at major music festivals such as Mayhem and Knotfest, and has shared the stage with some of music’s most legendary artists such as: Judas Priest, Rob Zombie, Korn, Nile, Twisted Sister, Gwar, and many more. Kaustik is now a prominent band who metal fans are talking about, are excited to see, and are anxious to hear what’s next.
Armored Assault have been delivering riffs upon riffs to the unsuspecting masses since 2003. Not content with sticking to a label, Armored Assault is Metal. Now, armed with a new guitarist, the band’s ready to unleash its first new EP in 5 years.
RealBadRealFast-Chicago based crust punk/noise/sludge rock trio are three grizzly veterans of the Chicago rock scene. Matthew Stanton (guitar/vocals)Tim Colletti(bass/vocals)& Ben Brundage(drums/vocals ) release an all out assault on your eardrums.
