On the heels of a successful North American tour with veteran thrashers Sacred Reich, the Queens, New York-based metallic hardcore heavyweights Sworn Enemy have unveiled a music video for “Seeds Of Hate,” a track from their acclaimed new album “Gamechanger.” The clip – which premiered yesterday via Germany’s Rock Hard – can be seen below:
Says vocalist Sal Lococo, “We had a lot of fun doing the video for ‘Seeds of Hate’ in Brooklyn at one of my favorite spots, The Kingsland. Tons of friends came down to help out and Bryan Bishop and his crew did a fantastic job filming. Hope you all enjoy it!”
In addition, Sworn Enemy have announced their first European tour dates in support “Gamechanger,” the group’s first international performances since they embarked on a European tour last year celebrating the 15th anniversary of their Jamey Jasta-produced debut album “As Real As It Gets.”
“We’re stoked about going back to Europe and being able to play some songs from our new album ‘Gamechanger,’” says Lococo. “See you all in the pit!”
Produced by Robb Flynn (Machine Head) and mixed/mastered by Zack Ohren (Suffocation, Fallujah, Warbringer), the hard-knuckled “Gamechanger” expertly fuses metal, thrash and New York hardcore. Earlier this year, first single “Prepare For Payback” cracked the “Devil’s Dozen” request countdown on SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal channel. The band subsequently unveiled a music video for another new song, “Coming Undone”.
Sworn Enemy was first signed by Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta, who released the group’s first two EPs on his Stillborn Recordings label in 2001 and 2002. He also produced the band’s full-length debut, “As Real As It Gets,” memorably praised by Lambgoat as “music that inspires you to want to beat the living piss out of the next unsuspecting person who walks in the room.” The album was released by Elektra Records in 2003, a year that saw the band deliver memorable performances on tour with Ozzfest. In the 15 years since, Sworn Enemy has released five additional albums of punishing metallic hardcore and toured with a number of notable acts, including Anthrax, Mastodon, Fear Factory, Sepultura, Suicide Silence, Dying Fetus, Earth Crisis, Madball, Biohazard and Hatebreed.
“‘Gamechanger’ lives up to its title in its ability to continually blur the lines of thrash metal and hardcore in a way that seamlessly incorporates the best of both worlds.” – Metal Nexus
“A solid dose of NY hardcore that does exactly what it sets out to do – break bones and knock out teeth with its caustic energy.” – Dead Rhetoric
“A perfect combination of hardcore, thrash and groove… one of the strongest, most well put-together crossover records I’ve heard in nearly decade.” – Metal Injection
