Yesterday morning, Cannibal Corpse tweeted an official statement concerning member Pat O’Brien’s arrest their continued support for him:
“As a band and as individuals, we all want nothing but the best for our brother and partner, Pat. While we can offer no further information about the incident, we wanted everyone to know that Pat is getting the help he needs and appreciates the support from all the CC fans.”
Pat O’Brien, 53, of Cannibal Corpse, was arrested earlier this month on charges of burglary with assault, and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, just after his Northdale, Florida home caught fire “with exploding ammunition inside”. According to the arrest report, O’Brien entered a home less than a half-mile away from his house on Monday evening. The two residents inside, who neither knew O’Brien nor gave him permission to enter their home, asked him to leave, but he just ignored them. As they continued, O’Brien pushed a woman down and ran do hide in their backyard. Deputies arrived after the couple had called 911. After the deputy had commanded O’Brien multiple times to surrender, O’Brien suddenly lunged at the officer with a knife. O’Brien was tasered multiple times before being placed in handcuffs. (Source)
