Killer tunes!! Send me a sticker!
Rebel Radio is my favorite website because it’s as hard as it can get, and it’s the only place for real music!
I have to say that I’ve always hated listening to the radio. They only play bloody oldies, lite rock, or (ugh!) “Alternative”. In Dartmouth & Halifax (that’s Nova Scotia, Canada), the music around here is pretty dead (unless you like Oasis or Punk!). It’s as if people are scared to listen to it (the ‘devil’s music’). So imagine my surprise when I find your page in an infoseek query for RealAudio! My first thought was that it was just a collection of RealAudio clips and posted to a page…much like my music page on my site. But it was actually REAL TIME! The first thing I listen to was the Mosh Pit…and fell in love! The design of the site was very rich, and easy to navigate, excellent job. No… Read more
(In response to our edited version of Pantera’s “F’n Hostile”): “Now I can play this in my daycare. Tks!”
I found this station on the internet even heavier than our famous KNAC. Just one request: Come out to Los Angeles, please! Keep up the good work!
Rebel Radio is my favorite website because it plays awesome music, all the time. Where I come from, somewhere in Saskatchewan, all we have is country or oldies. It’s either that, or static. I also love this site for the very interesting graphics. It has a great background and graphics to match, which suit the overall “Rebel Radio theme”. It also doesn’t take forever to bring up. This is good for us who still use a 28.8 modem connection. The “artist spotlight” is great. Not only does it keep us up to date, it also has links to the artists’ websites. What more can you ask for? In conclusion, Rebel Radio rules and you should check it out for yourself. I’ve got it bookmarked, and you should d… Read more
Hey!!! I live in Springfield, IL and was wondering if there was any way for me to get your station down here???? The stations here suck ass and I am in need of a cool radio station. I saw your advertising at the Metalfest. Please help me out!!!! Thanks!
Why the Fuck aren’t you in L.A.? I’ve been stuck in this hole for over 2 years without KNAC, Z-Rock I believe is not available here either, and the only station that used to play any kind of metal, has changed its format. It’s so sad. I dig your website and plan to listen as long as possible. Now a quote from the founding father of metal (Ozzy): “You can’t kill rock ‘n’ roll, it’s here to stay!”
YouTube response to our edit of Megadeth’s Good Mourning-Black Friday: “God, it’s so so cleaner than the original, it reveals how much of peace the intro has, amazing, would like to see other Megadeth songs cleaned like this.”
Thank God (and/or any other higher power responsible) for your station! I can’t express how happy I am to hear hard rock/metal. I know so many people who LOVE this music and want it to be, not commercial, but at least a little more accessible, the way it used to be. We want to rebel against current music trends, and that’s why the name “Rebel Radio” is so appropriate. I live in Pittsburgh, and our radio stations suck. Is there any chance of your station being syndicated or expanding to other cities? Please!!! I’m listening over the internet, and my connection is a little fuzzy. Do you know what may be cusing that? I will be spreading the word about Rebel Radio to everyone I know so that th… Read more
Rebel Radio is my favorite radio station because I live in a small Iowa town that doesn’t offer me the music I want to hear. Rebel Radio never lets me down when I need to jam.
Hey Thanks man. It’s the dude from Buffalo, I really appreciate you playing that for me. You guyz gotta get yer station out here! Here in Buffalo, we have NO rock stations. We got 5 alternative ones though, and they suck! C’mon Rebel Radio, help us metal-deprived Buffalonians! Get out here! Thankx man, yer station kicks serious ass!
Hello from the U.K. Could I have a song please? Anything of Helloween, Blind Guardian, Rage, or any other speed/power band that you have!! Preferably European band! Thanks for your time. P.S. It’s for Kostas. And the story ends…………..
Hi there !!! This is Marcus from Sao Paulo, Brazil, and I must tell you something: Rebel Radio Rocks! Here in Brazil, we can no longer find a decent Rock/Metal radio anymore. Rebel Radio is my best choice to keep on rockin’ and it’s the best way to be on line with the beautiful Chicago (I’ve visited Chicago last year and simply found it awesome. The view from the Skydeck at Sears Tower is great. I also visited Guitar Center at Clark Street – cool store!). Hope you’re not freezing with Chicago’s “polar” winter! Keep up with the great job! P.S.: Rebel Radio’s home-page new look is great.
I was recently in Gurnee, IL and picked up your station on 92.5 FM. It brought back memories from 1996 when you were simulcasting on 92.7 WAUN out of Kewaunee, WI. I grew up in that area and was a loyal listener. I even talked to you guys on the phone once. For the new year I am jammin’ to you on the web from Sheboygan, WI and would love to hear some old school MANOWAR. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!—APEMAN from Sheboygan, WI
Did you used to be called z rock? Recently I came upon some smokin’ hot metal on the radio of all places. Mr. Davidson, it is great to hear you!—Tim from Mount Pleasant, WI
Hey, I just wanted to say “thanks” for putting what is now the coolest station I know onto the internet. Here in Los Angeles, we had a station called “Pure Rock” (KNAC), which, unfortunately, was sold and turned into a foreign-language station. I’ve turned a metal-head in Australia onto your site and she digs it. Thanks Again!! —A head-bangin’ LA lawyer (A Chicago native, no less! Bulls RULE!)
I live in Savannah, GA, and the “hard rock” station here sucks major shit, always playing some kind of stupid fucking retro shit or something. I listen to you guys on the web more than I do my own local station. I just wanted to say keep up the good work!
Just want to say that I think your station is the best…. A hard rocker from Sweden!!
Hey, I love your station! I listen every night. It’s great that there is finally a station with all my music. You’re one of a kind, definitely. Keep up the good work!
(Comments in regards of our edited version of Pantera’s F’n Hostile):
- “My dad said if I play this I’m grounded. But because you made this video, I can play it. Thank you, you’re the best!” (commas added) — BluesBrothers Fan59
- “Now I can play this in my daycare. Tks.” –Austin Ash
- “THaNK YOU!!!!!!” — Metal Lord71
This is possibly the coolest thing I’ve ever seen! OK, let me back up…I get a news-mailing every day, and I subscribed to the music category, which includes recording, radio, video production, etc. Well, they had a story about Rebel Radio, so I had to see this fro myself. I’d never heard of Real Audio, nor Rebel Radio before (with the exception of the movie “AirHeads”), so I thought I’d try it out. WOW! See, I live in Indianapolis, and we had a great hard rock station (WRZX) that was bought by the bigger radio station(WFBQ-“Q95”) when they were getting too popular, and changed their format to some alternative shit (Indy’s new rock alternative X103 – lame or what?). Hey, you’re playing Nug… Read more
This must be an incredible catch! I am glad to hear Rebel Radio on AM 1240 actually, where some other stations also are broadcastin. The signal has to jump in the atmosphere back to earth and that’s what happening on these occasions. I listened very carefully for a long time and might have heard parts of your program for a longer time. This is the only time, during the top of the hour announcement, when I heard the station with a definite referring to “Rebel Radio” and “Chicago”. Your station really made a good job this night to reach Finland, thank you for making this possible. This is (actually) the first time I hear this station, while listening here in Central Finland. I use a Japanese … Read more
Rebel Radio is my favorite site because all the radio stations in my area SUCK, and Rebel Radio plays the best kick ass music on the PLANET!! Keep on rockin’!
Rebel Radio’s the best because…..as it is written in the book of Cyril, “It is easier for a rich man to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a camel to.” It’s also cos you play the best music all day long!!!!
Why is Rebel Radio my favorite station? Because it’s like the ol’ Z-Rock on the web…only better. Seriously though, that background graphic alone just plain rules…add in a live feed, cool stuff to scam, a place to vent, and a regularly updated page in general (a rarity these days among most radio sites, unfortunately)…how can you go wrong? Man, if I lived in Chicago (instead of Boston, which is the next best thing to Chicago here in New England, I guess), I’d be begging Rebel Radio for a job, just so I could be a part of the coolest station I’ve ever heard!
Hi! Just wanted to say hello…how are you? Radio station is great!!!!!! Greetings from Croatia!
I love the radio station! I wish we had a station like yours in Cleveland. All the radio stations here suck!!! Keep up the good work!!!!
Hey bro, I’m listening and I agree; it really is the hardest Station of American nation!!! Rock on \m/!
Just a note to let you know that I’ve been listening for a couple months now, and I must say, you have the best thing since sliced bread!!! Here in Podunk Town, Arkansas, we have a rock station, but they don’t always play the “right” music. You guys are right on, and I’ll just stick to your Real Audio feed. I have recently made the “Rebel Radio” homepage the startup page for my puter, so now I’m sure to have total tuneage almost immediately after signing on. Thanks fellas and fellettes!! “Not a damn redneck!!”
I’ve been a long-time listener, since the station was on 103.1 FM, then went to 107.9, and now back. Glad you got rid of that loser Scott Loftis. He really showed his true colors at The Blaze. I’m a 43-year old listener and you guys kick major ass! I don’t care what kind of music you play, as long as they don’t play it on M-tv (yech). I wish this type of music had a bigger following so we could be able to hear more of it. It is great to see that a station will put the listener ahead of selling out for a dollar or two. I would like to be put on your e-mail mailing list if one if available, so that I may be kept informed of happenings around the Northern Illinois area. Also, if available, a … Read more
I just had to email to tell you what a great radio station you have going. I’m listening to it all the way from Maryland! Wish ya guys would move out here! The place is turning all the radio stations to Country!! Ah well, love the station. Keep it up!
Hi there! Thanks for a great radio station! Radio here in Sweden sucks, so Rebel Radio has been lately my main source of qualified noise pollution. Sadly enough, I can only listen when I work, so at home, CDs rule. If you check the map and begin to calculate time difference between Chicago and Stockholm, you soon find out that I mainly listen to RR when you play non-stop. So what’s the problem? Sometimes you play something I’ve never heard before and it’s impossible to find out what band or song it was and that means no new CDs. I would appreciate if you can put the actual playlist on the web, or even better, stream information directly to the RealPlayer (it that possible?). Regards.… Read more
I’ve been listening to your station non-stop since I found it on the net. It is without a doubt the greatest radio station in the history of the world! I’m from VA where we have nothing to listen to. Thanks!
Hey bud, I just wanted to write and say you guys are great! I’m in the military and stuck in Korea, and you’re our only connection to real music and the States. Thanks for the awesome fucking tunes! -Jack stuck at Kunsan. P.S. – Please play more Machine Head for us!
(YouTube response to our edited version of Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage”): “yassssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss thanks for this edit!!”
Pop sucks. Pop stations suck. Metal rules. Metal stations rule. Metal sites rule. Rebel Radio is the only site for real-time metal.
I love your station. It reminds of the early Z-Rock years. Keep up the great work!—Scott (The Rocker) from Las Cruces NM
I live up in Wisconsin, near Milwaukee. Unfortunately all the radio stations here suck, and there’s no damn metal. Therefore, I listen to you dudes over the net. I was wondering, what time does the “Mosh Pit” start? That’s my favorite show.
Hey Rebs, I’m in Chicago for work this week, and discovering Rebel Radio is better than striking oil! This is the best radio station I’ve every listened to – and I travel all over the country for work, so I hear a lot of stations! Until I get the Real Audio working on my computers, I was wondering if there’s any other way to pick up your station? I saw “Satcom C-5” listed among the radio station call signs; does that mean you’re available via some satellite service? If so, what are the details I need to know in order to receive this most magical signal? “Life without music…I can’t go on!” (Steel Pulse) Thanks a billion!
